Title: Mechanical Engineer
Essential Responsibilities:
Work in a global and multi-disciplinary team, developing superconducting magnets and gradient coils for next generation Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems.
You will be responsible for:
- developing conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for prototypes in partnership with a
diverse, cross-functional technical team
- performing finite element analysis and optimization of components and prototypes
- developing 3D CAD models and 2D engineering sketches of mechanical designs
- manufacturing and testing of components and prototypes
- effectively communicating results by preparing written reports and making presentations
Qualifications/Requirements
* Master or above degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or equivalence with more than 5 years experience
* Strong product design experience and analytical skills in mechanical designs of large-scale superconducting or electromagnetic
devices
* Experience with mechanical analysis tools such as ANSYS, ABACUS
* Experience with mechanical design tools such as ProEngineer, Unigraphics, I-DEAS, etc.
* Experience in Design for Manufacturability for mechanical designs
* "Can do" attitude, embrace challenge with enthusiasm
* Quick learner, self-motivator, team player with strong communication & interpersonal skills
* High curiosity of innovation and research
* Good written and oral English skills
Desired Characteristics
* Experience in mechanical designs of electrical equipment with electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical interactions such as superconducting magnets and electrical machines
* Strong hands-on experimental skills
* Experience in Lean Six-Sigma and Design for Six-Sigma methodology
* Demonstrated program/project planning capability
* Knowledge of MRI magnet and system\
