BERGAMO - Inter's vice coach Giuseppe Baresi spoke in place of the suspended José Mourinho after the 1-1 draw against Atalanta. "Matches are often decided by episodes," he told Sky Sport Italia. "Wesley's double yellow was a negative for us. It affected the rest of the match. I don't know if the sending-off was right, perhaps Rizzoli could have let play continue after the second foul. These are the only fouls committed by Sneijder in recent matches.
"The team showed it had balance and compactness. We didn't have any problems. The match was in our hands but unfortunately Sneijder committed the foul and he was sent off. It's a shame because Inter deserved victory."
At the same stage last season Inter had three more points than the current tally of 35. "We played an excellent match today," said Baresi. "We have five more points than Milan and six more than Juventus. Yes, today's draw was a chance lost, but more for the others than for us."
