Korea Record Attendance Of 61,000 Sees Dejan Damjanovic Star For FC Seoul
A record K-League crowd of 60,747 saw FC Seoul thrash Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma 4-0 on Wednesday to move top of the standings.
The vast majority of the fans at Seoul World Cup stadium were hailing the talents of Dejan Damjanovic who scored three of the goals.
The Montenegrin international scored once in the first half and twice in the second to put the hosts on their way. Lee Sung-ryeol completed a perfect afternoon with a late fourth.
Seoul held the previous record attendance of 55,000 against Suwon Bluewings in 2007.
Perhaps more impressive was the fact that after six consecutive defeats, 39,000 headed to Suwon to see the team held to a goalless draw by Daejeon Citizen. Suwon were left to rue a first half missed penalty by Brazilian defender Juninho.
