Jan Schloesser does not need time to think when asked about his greatest
sporting moment: in autumn 1999, the then 16 year-old sat on the subs' bench
for Bayern's Champions League visits to Glasgow Rangers and PSV Eindhoven.

The young keeper freely admits to the lasting impression left behind by his
brief experience of elite European football, and it is conceivable he may
soon savour another taste of Champions League action after stepping up to the
professional ranks at Bayern in July 2003

The player has continued to work at his game in the four years since his
European adventure, winning the German Youth Cup with the Bayern Under-19s in
2001 and showing off his talents in the third division with the reserves.

The goalkeeper, who is 1.84 metres tall and weighs 79 kg, is aiming at
another major step forward in his career by breaking through into the
first-team. Who knows: with hard work and good fortune, he may make a
competitive appearance for the double winners in his first season as a pro –
and Schloesser will not mind at all whether it is the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup
or even the Champions League.
