SPLIT, Croatia, May 28 (Reuters) - Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb complete
d the domestic double on Thursday after beating traditional rivals Hajduk Sp
lit on penalties at the end of a dramatic second leg of their Cup final.
Dinamo keeper Tomislav Butina saved two spot kicks to give his team a 4-3 wi
n in the shootout after Hajduk had won the second leg at home 3-0 to make th
e score 3-3 on aggregate.
Butina denied Giovanni Rosso and captain Srdjan Andric, who fell to his knee
s and had to be helped up by his team mates after Mirko Hrgovic's miss had g
iven him the opportunity to take the penalties to sudden death.
Striker Nikola Kalinic had given Hajduk the lead on the night with a crisp f
inish in the 56th minute.
Bosnia midfielder Mladen Bartolovic made it 2-0 two minutes later with a div
ing header at the far post and Kalinic then completed the fightback with a f
ierce shot on the turn. "We were punished for sitting back on our huge lead
from the first leg but fortunately we came out on top in the penalty shootou
t lottery," Dinamo coach Krunoslav Jurcic told Croatian television.
