The homotopy momentum map of general relativity
In general relativity, Noether's theorem does not give rise to a hamiltonian momentum map, which is a long-standing, fundamental, and annoying problem. Working in the setting of multisymplectic geometry, I will explain that there is a natural homotopy momentum map of general relativity, i.e. a morphism of L-infinity algebras that extends the map from spacetime vector fields to their conserved Noether currents.
