Group Overview The Multimodal User Interface Group at MSR Asia is exploring research in advanced natural user interface technologies. Natural communication with machines or with other people via machines is critical to bringing the benefits of networked computers to the mass market. A computer's user interface must cater to the human senses of sight, sound, and touch, which are used to navigate physical surroundings. New technologies are emerging that can support human-machine communications with features that are natural to humans. The challenge is learning how to use these still imperfect technologies to transcend the benefits of a single modality.
Roles & Responsibilities User Interface Group of MSR Asia is looking for graduate students as interns to assist ongoing research and development on a project in a period of minimally three months:
 Be responsible for making prototypes
Required Qualifications If you are
1. Ability to program quickly, working independently, and learn new techniques.
2. Proficient in programming with C++/C#, or JavaScript
3. Good English reading and writing skills
4. The following requirements are plus:
 Proficient in database programming
 Experience in data mining
 Previous experience working with artists and other non-programmers
5. Can work as full-time intern in working days for at least 3 months
6. Can get Advisor’s approval
