Group Overview Researchers in the Visual Computing Group are turning their ideas into reality in areas such as computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, image/video analysis and retrieval. Projects pushing the state-of-the-art forward include face detection and tracking, face modeling and recognition, cartoon generation, video summarization, 2D and 3D object tracking, image and video retrieval for object tracking, image and video retrieval for MSN, and Xbox camera based game interfaces.
Roles & Responsibilities
VC Group welcomes students working on the projects for a period of minimally three months.
Required Qualifications
If you are:
1. BS/MS in Computer Science or any related technical field and possess the following skills;
2. Can commit at least 6 months internship and get advisor’s approval;
3. Solid background of data structure;
4. Good programming skills in C/C++;
5. Good team work and communication skills;
6. Be able and willing to solve problems independently;
7. Good knowledge in digital image processing is preferred;
8. Good knowledge in machine learning (AdaBoost, SVM) is preferred;
9. Good knowledge in parallel computing is preferred;
10. Good knowledge in statistics is preferred.
