Azzurrini striking star Robert Acquafresca has a verbal agreement to join Atalanta, according to the player’s agent.
Last season was Acquafresca’s first full season in Serie A and he impressed with 10 goals, which helped the Isolani stay afloat.
There has been speculation that the 20-year-old, who is co-owned by Inter and Cagliari, may be used by the Nerazzurri as a bargaining chip to bring Antonio Cassano to San Siro, but now it seems he may be on his way to Bergamo.
“Firstly the co-ownership situation between Cagliari and Inter must be resolved,” representative Paolo Fabbri stated.
“Inter should take full control of Acquafresca and they have some kind of verbal agreement with Atalanta, who are most likely to find a deal with Inter.
“The thing is that the whole agreement can only be completed when President Massimo Moratti owns 100 per cent of Acquafresca.”
