Mancini Heartbroken By Inter Sack - Oriali
Inter director Gabriele Oriali has revealed that former Coach Roberto Mancini is still heartbroken by his sacking.
Mancini was sacked by President Massimo Moratti last week despite winning three Scudetti on the trot, and earlier this week Jose Mourinho was appointed as his successor.
Mancio did not take too well to his dismissal, and more than a week later, he is still said to be struggling to come to terms with it.
“Roberto was convinced that he was going to stay – he is destroyed,” Mancini's good friend Oriali told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We went out for a run together so he could let off some steam. He is a great Coach and it’s hard to accept a dismissal like this."
The main reason given by Inter for Mancini's sacking was the dramatic resignation u-turn he made following the Champions League exit to Liverpool in March, and Oriali admits that the coach blundered then.
“He made a pig’s ear of things on the evening of the Liverpool game and I told him that – friends must tell each other clearly when they make mistakes," the 1982 World Cup winner stated.
“But we have different personalities. He is more impulsive, while I’m calmer. But I haven’t been so close to any other Coach.”
