Inter could make a move for Diego Forlan this summer if they do indeed opt to sell teenage sensation Mario Balotelli.

The latter’s future at San Siro is in doubt with a host of top clubs, mainly from the Premiership, seemingly interested in his services.

Nerazzurri chief Massimo Moratti has admitted that offers for the player do exist and it seems he is seriously considering a sale.

Although the Under-21 international has the potential to be a star of the future, clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are perhaps prepared to part with ￡30m for him.

Now reports from Spain are suggesting that Inter are already looking at possible alternatives for the Italian.

World Cup sensation Forlan is apparently an option that the Nerazzurri are looking at should Balotelli be sold.

Although the Uruguayan is already 31, he proved in South Africa that he’s a more refined finisher than Super Mario.

The South American, who is also of interest to Juventus, could be sold by Atletico Madrid for as little as ￡15m.
