Benitez edges closer to Inter Monday 7 June, 2010

Inter President Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Rafa Benitez is likely to become the Nerazzurri's new Coach tomorrow.

The Spanish tactician, who recently left Liverpool after six seasons at Anfield, has agreed a four-year contract with Inter and will replace Jose Mourinho.

“Probably tomorrow the contract will be official,” said Moratti.

“But the wages the paper have been talking about is not a real figure. We only need to clear the final details to confirm the deal.

“It was a standard negotiation and also quite fast.”

Moratti was also asked whether he already discussed transfer matters with the new Inter boss.

“No, we didn't talk about that yet,” said the Nerazzurri patron. “Also there is no problem with Rafa's staff members.”
