Jose Mourinho could fall back on his former Inter pupil Cristian Chivu and design a strategy that will lure him to Real Madrid, claims the player's agent Giovanni Becali.

Mourinho is said to have launched moves for Fiorentina's Juan Manuel Vargas and Lazio's Aleksandar Kolarov.

But if those moves sink the 'Special One' will be thrown a lifeline as the Chivu idea becomes an option.

"I will go to meet Mourinho, but I don't know if he wants Chivu," Becali told the Romanian press, according to Goal.com Italia.

"We have not spoken yet, but I think Real are interested in Kolarov for the left side, but Mourinho has always appreciated Cristian. We will see..."
