Jose Mourinho thanked Inter and Italy for making him a better tactician at his official unveiling as Coach of Real Madrid this afternoon.
The Special One finally got the all clear to move to the Bernabeu last Friday when Massimo Moratti and Florentino Perez came to an agreement over compensation.
Speaking at a packed Press Conference, Mourinho said: “I don't know if I was born to coach Real Madrid but I was born to be a football Coach.
“I love important challenges. My attraction to Real Madrid is due to its history, its frustrations in recent years and its expectations to win.
“It's a unique club and I believe that not to coach Real leaves a void in a Coach's career.
“Luckily I've had a beautiful career and it makes me proud to come here. I am very enthusiastic. I want my players to think that way.
“The beauty is not so much to train or play at Real, but to win at Real Madrid.
“It's too early to speak about changes. I believe it's time to analyse the situation, to get to know my club, ask lots of questions and get answers.
“The most important thing is not the Coach or the players but the club.
“I am a Coach who improves every day. I have worked in Italy for two years and I have also learnt a lot from Italian football. It's important to have the humility to learn something new every day. The Italian League is a difficult League because it has great players and very good Coaches.
“Today I am richer and better thanks to the two years I spent in Italy, a country of world and European champions. I hope that I will be able to say the same when I finish my adventure in Spain.
“I will not speak with Moratti about the next Coach of Inter. I can say that Inter are team ready to go, built to have success today and tomorrow. Inter have everything that they need to win in Italy and in Europe.
“It's a team that is already structured and the Coach who arrives there will have to be intelligent to understand what path to take to keep going down the path I left. Whoever arrives at Inter will be lucky because thanks to me they can play the World Club Cup and the Champions League.
“I am not a provocateur, but a worker who works a lot together with his players and collaborators. We want respect and if we don't have it, I must defend my group.”
