Reja: 'Lazio-Inter a difficult situation' Wednesday 19 May, 2010

Lazio Coach Edy Reja admits his team couldn’t fight back against Inter “with our own fans insulting us.”
That controversial 2-0 result at the Olimpico effectively ended the Scudetto hopes of rivals Roma.
“I have wiped that game from my memory,” Reja told Radio Radio. “I was in the stands due to a touchline ban, but I know we prepared for that test well.
“The team had so much hunger to make a good impression at the start, but with 50,000 people cheering against you, it isn’t easy to give your best.
“The situation was so strange, as our own fans were insulting the Lazio players.”
Roma boss Claudio Ranieri admitted today he was “offended” by the victory that could well have proved decisive in the title race.
“When Inter broke the deadlock, everyone celebrated like crazy and with that atmosphere it certainly wasn’t easy to fight back,” insisted Reja.
“Such a thing has never happened to me before. However, now let us put it in the past and not talk about this any more.”
