APPIANO GENTILE - After lifting the Coppa Italia and the Serie A trophy, Javier Zanetti can't wait for Saturday's showdown against Bayern Munich in Madrid. "These are days of great emotions and unique feelings, and it doesn't get any better than playing a Champions League final after winning the championship," he told Inter Channel.
"It was a very tough game against Siena but it was exciting too. Celebrating in Piazza Duomo, seeing all the Inter fans cheering and applauding all over the city was beautiful. They all deserved this Scudetto. But now all our thoughts are on the final against Bayern and one last effort that we hope can bring us what we want."
At the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Zanetti will celebrate yet another milestone: 700 competitive matches for Inter. "It's incredible, a sign of destiny that I hope can bring us luck because I really want to win this trophy for our fans," said the captain. "The team is very concentrated and calm, and knows the difficulties we might face against a great team like Bayern. But we're hoping to play a great match."
