MILAN - Massimo Moratti said that he too was surprised at José Mourinho's starting lineup against Rubin Kazan. "I wasn't expecting this formation either, but facing the oppontents like this was one of the keys of the match," the Inter president told Sky Sport Italia. "I think that Zanetti made a great contribution, but compliments to the whole team that played with great courage and determination."
Inter's young striker Mario Balotelli rifled home a screaming free kick after Eto'o's opener to make a name for himself on the European stage. "Mourinho has faith in Balotelli's qualities and I think the method he uses with him is right; it's important for them to respect and esteem each other," said Moratti. "Mourinho can sometimes seem harsh on him, but in the end he named him as a starter in a Champions League game... I admire Mario for his talent, but he still has to grow. Yes, I would like to see him in the national team. Without a doubt."

In Europe there are situations where you have a negative evening, like in Barcelona, and others where you play well and win, but this doesn't mean you were weak before and strong now. It means we have to learn from the defeats, continue, and show we can compete in this competition. I hope we do better than the last two years, but I also hope we have that bit of luck that was missing against Liverpool and Manchester (United)." 6565
Of Inter's potential opponents in the last sixteen, no side will give the Nerazzurri an easy game according to Moratti. "Bordeaux are not to be underestimated, but I don't have any preferences," he said. "Arsenal may be the youngest but they still have experience. Sevllia are dangerous because you might not have the same concentration as against teams like Real or Barcelona. If the teams seem easy to face on paper, you find yourself less motivated."
