The DBA (Database Administrator) team is committed to the construction and management of database services within ByteDance. Our team provides online storage service support for all types of products in ByteDance (TikTok, Douyin, Toutiao, etc) and manages the industry-leading database clusters that store data exceeding trillions of rows. At present, the DBA team focuses on the construction of ultra-large-scale database operation and maintenance systems as well as the landing of intelligent databases.
Responsibilities
- Lead the DBA team to take the ownership of end-to-end availability and performance for the online database infrastructure;
- Lead to design and develop automatic operation and maintenance platform to improve system administration and operation efficiency;
- Play a key role in driving project objectives and execution management, architecture design and code reviews, define long term technical roadmap for the team, and demonstrate technical leadership;
- Recruit and mentor engineers of various levels of experience into a performant team, build team culture and cohesion, help team members grow technical capabilities;
- Work closely with stakeholder teams to identify business pain points, continuously optimize and improve customer experience, team reputation, and impact.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields;
- 5+ years of Database development experience;
- Experience in managing an engineering team and projects in-depth involvement of code, networking, operating systems and storage;
- Experience in the design and development of software platforms and monitoring frameworks for service-oriented architecture (SOA) governance is preferred;
- Good communication skills, able to lead and drive projects effectively. Familiar with team and project management methodologies and approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in technical management of a software engineering team;
- In-depth industry experience in designing, analyzing, and supporting large-scale distributed storage systems, for example MySQL/PostgreSQL/Redis/MongoDB.
