独立主格是一个从属的从句,在主句中,独立主格通常充当状语。
是这样吗?我的理解对不对?
例如:

注释认为:Education, with its cycles of instruction so carefully worked out, punctuated by textbooks----those purchasable wells of wisdom,是一个单元句。
后面的疑问句中的its,指的就是education's,这样的话,该句(单元句)是否也可以理解为独立主格?
我觉得,不能理解为独立主格。因为该句(单元句),在后面完整的句子(疑问句)中,不充当状语
