单元句（单部句）是一个独立的句子。
独立主格是一个从属的从句，在主句中，独立主格通常充当状语。
是这样吗？我的理解对不对？

例如：
Education, with its cycles of instruction so carefully worked out, punctuated by textbooks----those purchasable wells of wisdom----what would civilization be like without its benefits?

注释认为：Education, with its cycles of instruction so carefully worked out, punctuated by textbooks----those purchasable wells of wisdom，是一个单元句。

后面的疑问句中的its，指的就是education's，这样的话，该句（单元句）是否也可以理解为独立主格？
我觉得，不能理解为独立主格。因为该句（单元句），在后面完整的句子（疑问句）中，不充当状语
