道从来都是没有名字的，侯王如果能够持守它，万物就会自行化育。化育的过程中有私欲出现，我就要用道的本源之朴来安定他们。用本源之朴安定了他们，也就不会再沾染私欲。不沾染私欲，他们就能保持情真质朴的面貌。如此，天地将自行回归正态。

道恒无名*，侯王若能守之，万物将自化。化而欲作，吾将镇之以无名之朴。镇之以无名之朴*，夫将不辱*。不辱以情*，天地将自正*。

Tao abides in non-action, Yet nothing is left undone. If kings and lords observed this, The ten thousand things would develop naturally. If they still desired to act, They would return to the simplicity of formless substance. Without form there is no desire. Without desire there is tranquility. And in this way all things would be at peace.

道永远是顺任自然的，然而没有一件事不是它所为。
侯王如果能持守它，万物就会自生自长。自生自长而至贪欲萌作时，我就用道的真朴来安定它。用道的真朴来安定它，就会不起贪欲。不起贪欲而趋于宁静，天下便自然复归于安定。
