1:23    将不能朽坏之　神的荣耀、变为偶像、彷彿必朽坏的人、和飞禽走兽昆虫的样式。
1:24    所以　神任凭他们、逞着心里的情欲行污秽的事、以致彼此玷辱自己的身体。

评论：

1:23节，他们根据自己属血肉的理性 所能理解的 来想象（捏造）一位 上主，所以他们根本没有认识真 上主。他们乃是虚构一个新的上主，或者说是一个幻影来代替 上主。这就是保罗说的“将不能朽坏之　神的荣耀变为偶像”（把神的荣耀改变了，所以他们离弃了 上主）。祭司、政治家、哲学家甚至最贤明如柏拉图者 都在探索 神的形象，他们这种佞妄的邪恶是无人可得赦免的。。
