"First of all, Shaq is my favorite person to play against," the Nets'
reserve center said, looking ahead to the team's first encounter with
O'Neal this season in tonight's game against the Heat at AmericanAirli
nes Arena. "He'll tell you that. I prefer to play against him 82 games
than somebody else, and that's the truth."
"He's a great competitor, and a great warrior. I feel as though I'm a
warrior and I'm a soldier," Jackson explained. "I like that -- that co
mbat, the body contact, that muscle play, that strength down there, th
at banging. No flopping, just going out there and playing basketball.
"I love playing against him from the first day I played against him. I
said it that day and I'll say it again: I love playing against him. M
y motto with Shaq is just have me a cut doctor waiting next to the ben
ch. Just patch me up and send me back in. I love it. I love it."
"Our starting center was scared of Shaq, so I played 40 minutes a nigh
t every time we played Shaq," Jackson said, referring to Rasho Nestero
vic.
"I go out there and play. I don't shy away from him. I go right at him
. I don't like to shoot too many jumpers on him. I like to post agains
t him. I like to go at him. That warrior in me that loves the competit
ion of playing against the best."
